GAMECOOL 7
The upgraded GameCool 7 thermal system in the ROG Phone 7 is the best yet, cooling the CPU from all directions. It uses a three-pronged approach. First, for short sessions the Boron Nitride (BN) thermal compound on one side of the CPU reduces throttling. Secondly, mid-length sessions are taken care of by the bigger vapor chamber and graphite sheets on the other side of the CPU. Finally, for marathon sessions the AeroActive Cooler 7 — with its fan positioned right over the CPU module — kicks into play for AI-powered active cooling, featuring a Peltier element for extra cooling performance.
RAPID-CYCLE VAPOR CHAMBER
The new ROG Rapid-Cycle vapor chamber has specially designed conduits which quickly channel condensing water back to the center of the chamber, increasing cooling efficiency. The six liquid-return channels work as mini highway for condensed water, and the trident shape wick columns on the long edges of the chamber to improve efficiency.10
OPTIMIZED GRAPHITE SHEETS
Graphite sheets are incredibly efficient at dissipating heat, so in the ROG Phone 7 we’ve made them bigger. They’ve also been reshaped to maximize heat transfer from the mainboard and RF board.

The device has been tested for water resistance using the IEC 60529 standard and has achieved an IP54 rating. IP54 resistance protects against splashing water. Water splashed against the enclosure from any direction will have no harmful effects. (https://www.iec.ch/ip-ratings) The water repellency may deteriorate over time under normal conditions of use, or if the unit is damaged, repaired or disassembled or not observe the correct precautions. The IP54 water-repellent function of this device is only suitable for general tap water or freshwater, and not for contact with other types of water or liquids (e.g. seawater, salt water, chlorinated water and beverages). In addition, do not immerse the unit in any water or liquid, and please note that this device has a USB-C® charging port, and the USB-C® port must be thoroughly dried before charging.
